In this paper, a diffuse-interface lattice Boltzmann method (DI-LBM) is developed for fluid–particle interaction problems. method, the sharp interface between fluid and solid replaced by thin but nonzero thickness transition region named diffuse interface, where physical variables change continuously. order to describe we introduce smooth function, which similar parameter in phase-field model or volume fraction of phase partially saturated (PS-LBM). addition, depict more accurately, modified discrete force term also proposed included evolution equation DI-LBM. Some classical problems are used test DI-LBM, results good agreement with some available theoretical numerical data. Finally, it found that DI-LBM efficient accurate than PS-LBM superposition model. • A proposed. The effective study detailed Chapman–Enskog analysis performed.
